It is a perennial food and medicinal herbaceous plant of the cabbage family. The stem is raised, hollow, and furrowed. The leaves are petiolate, indented, pinnate, opposite, and arranged in pairs.


The upper leaf of the stem is somewhat oval. Blooms from May to September. The flowers are white, with four petals, located at the top of the stem. The fruit is a slightly swollen pod. The medicinal raw material is grass.


In culture, it is cut 40-45 days after planting seedlings, when the plant reaches a height of 40-45 cm. The raw materials are knitted into bundles, placed in baskets, then dried.


Fresh herbs, seasoned with mayonnaise or vegetable oil, are served to the table as a seasoning for meat and fish dishes, as it has a sharp mustard taste and improves appetite.


The plant is rich in vitamins and trace elements, and does not contain sugar. Vitamin C and carotene in the asp are much more than in the leaves of onions.


The herb contains essential oil, iodine, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, vitamins E, B1, and provitamins A and D.
